Who is Stuart Jackson?

Tenor Stuart Jackson studied biology in Oxford and sang in the city’s famous Christ Church Cathedral Choir. In 2013, he completed his singing studies with Ryland Davies at the Royal Academy of Music in London.

Since winning prizes at the Wigmore Hall/Kohn Foundation International Song Competition and the International Hugo Wolf Lied Competition in Stuttgart, he has performed with the BBC, in Wigmore Hall and in the Oxford International Song Festival and the Schubertiade in Schwarzenberg.

He recently sang the role of Jupiter in Handel’s Semele with Emmanuelle Haïm conducting the Opéra de Lille, the Komische Oper Berlin and during the Glyndebourne Festival. His concert repertoire ranges from Bach, Mozart and Beethoven to more modern work. Stuart, who is in the Re­cital Hall for the first time during the Mahler Festival, made his Concertgebouw debut in 2012 in a Vivaldi programme with the Academy of Ancient Music.
